Between 4 and 8 this evening, they drew fluid from Suzy's abdomen. This has relieved the pressure on her diaphragm and improved her breathing. It was kind of a relief to see less "heaving" breaths and more normal, gentle respiration. Suzy's mom and I continue in obstinant German optimism. Still, there is a long way to go.

I must say that, given the "there will be ups and downs" predictions of a week ago, it is heartening to have had as many ups as we have so far had. Thank you all for your support and prayers.
